Sierra Pacific Industries shows it values its employees through continuing programs administered by the Human Resources Department: Sierra Pacific owns or manages approximately 1.5 million acres of forestland in the Coast, Klamath, Cascade, and Sierra Nevada mountain ranges of California. Sierra Pacific harvests approximately 1.2 % of its lands each year. The forests are replanted within one year with tree seedlings from local sources adapted to grow on the harvest site. Sierra Pacific participates in and supports the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program.
