Franklin International - Manuacturer of solvent borne, water borne
and polyurethane adhesives for construction applications.
Founded in 1935 as the Franklin Glue Company, we began with a
solution. To address a major concern in the furniture manufacturing
industry, we developed the first ready-to-use liquid hide glue. It
could be applied at room temperature instead of 140°F for
traditional hide glue and it allowed twenty minutes of assembly time
instead of two. Today, our liquid hide glue is still widely used for
interior woodworking, musical instruments, and antique restoration.
As the years passed, Franklin Glue Company became Franklin
International to more accurately reflect the global contributions of
our business.
Liquid hide glue was only the first of a long line of solutions to
real world problems. Titebond(r) aliphatic resin and its water-
resistant cousin Titebond II for woodworking. Two-part
polyurethane's for filters. A high-performance binder for fiberglass
mats used to make roofing shingles. Made-to-order pressure-sensitive
adhesives for package labels, postage stamps, and envelopes. FDA
approved adhesives for microwave popcorn bags. Binders that
eliminate VOCs from the manufacturer of preformed fiberglass shapes.
Glues that cure in seconds with radio-frequency energy. Adhesives
that hold sound deadening panels in cars. The list goes on, and
includes structural adhesives, sealants, caulks, coatings and films.
At Franklin International, we do more than sell adhesives. We solve
technical problems.
Our solutions improve quality, enhance safety, accelerate
manufacturing cycles, cut delivery times and, on occasion, provide
the basis for strategic marketing advantages and new product
categories. Just as important, we do it quickly and cost-
effectively. Because we believe as strongly in tomorrow as in today,
we devote an unusually high percentage of our resources to research
and development. That's where defined solutions become reality and
where advances in adhesive technology are converted into practical
applications.
A vast array of Franklin's products is now distributed globally and
touches the lives of millions. But we're still a family-owned, U.S.
- based company operating under our original philosophy - creativity
and innovation with an intense focus on personalized service,
superior product quality and total customer value. |
